Our Data Sources

PrisonerWatch is a data aggregator. We compile, translate, and enrich case information from trusted human rights organizations around the world. Every case on this platform originates from the organizations listed below.

How We Use This Data

PrisonerWatch does not conduct original field research. We aggregate publicly available data from established human rights organizations, then add value through:

  • Machine translation to make cases accessible across languages
  • Structured data extraction (charges, sentences, locations)
  • Cross-referencing and deduplication across sources
  • Analytics, visualization, and research tools

Every case page on PrisonerWatch credits its primary data source and links to the original record. For details on our technical pipeline, see our Methodology page.
